Best Amazon Prime Day Essential Deals 2025: Household, Kitchen, Health

Amazon Prime Day is here, and while the retailer is touting deals on electronics, bedding, luxury apparel and housewares, many shoppers are using the four-day event (July 8-11) to stock up on everyday household essentials, as fears of tariff hikes, rising prices and unemployment continue to linger.

Some of the bestselling Prime Day products from 2024 already included things like Energizer batteries, Glad trash bags, Crest WhiteStrips and Liquid I.V. packs, showing that customer intent was less about a wishlist, and more about immediate needs.

Data from consumer insights company Numerator revealed a similar trend, with skincare essentials, office supplies, and vitamins and supplements among the top categories that saw year over year growth from Prime Day 2023. Half of shoppers surveyed say they specifically waited for items to go on sale during Prime Day before adding to cart, while almost 30% say they stocked up on must-have products in bulk during the Prime Day dates.

This year’s Prime Day deals seem to reflect that sentiment, with up to 30% off everyday supplies and household essentials from Amazon Basics (starting at $3); up to 30% off pet food and supplies; and up to 35% off lawn and garden items, among others.

Amazon Prime members can also take $20 off their grocery bill when they spent $75 or more online at Amazon Fresh or at Whole Foods Market. In addition, Prime members get three months of free access to Amazon’s grocery subscription service, which offers unlimited free delivery on orders from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and local grocery retailers on Amazon.com.

While Amazon is promoting discounts of up to 65% off site-wide, the feeling seems to be that “every little bit counts” when it comes to cost savings this year. Even getting a couple dollars off daily essentials like toilet paper and laundry detergent could be enough reason to stock up and save.
