President Donald Trump took a short break from ginning up votes for his One Big Beautiful Bill Act Monday afternoon to make an announcement entirely unrelated to domestic policy or war. “Trump Fragrances are here,” he wrote on Truth Social. “They’re called ‘Victory 45-47’ because they’re all about Winning, Strength, and Success — For men and women. Get yourself a bottle, and don’t forget to get one for your loved ones too. Enjoy, have fun, and keep winning!”
The bottles, which cost $249 each, come in the form of little golden statuettes in the shape of the president, and sit atop a base that features Trump’s jagged signature—an olfactory executive order.
Beyond the fact that Trump is out here side-hustling while holding the position of leader of the free world and providing political ammo to critics, the existence of Victory 45-47 introduces a few important scent-related questions. What does Trump’s version of “Winning, Strength, and Success” smell like? And what fragrance house is behind the creation of this new concoction?
First, it’s important to note that this isn’t Trump’s first spritz. The amusingly named Donald Trump the Fragrance dropped in 2004 when he was just starting his run on The Apprentice. That scent was created by Annie Buzantian, the master perfumer behind hits like Marc Jacobs Decadence and Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger. In 2015, as Trump was campaigning for his first run at office, he released the eau de toilettes Success and Empire. The former was made by Yann Vasnier, one of the world’s most famous noses, who formulated Tom Ford’s Velvet Orchid and Moschino Toy Boy.
Trump’s latest launch isn’t even the first Victory perfume. Last year, Trump debuted the limited edition Victory Cologne and Victory Perfume. He then quickly turned around Fight Fight Fight Cologne for Men and Fight Fight Fight Perfume for Women. Both bottles feature images of Trump pumping his fist in the air after the assassination attempt on him in 2024. It’s worth noting that Fight Fight Fight is also the name of a gaudy watch he released the same year. The list of curiously sourced Trump-branded products is long, and includes gold sneakers, NFTs, and Bibles, which made headlines for being produced in China.
As for who made these most recent editions of his fragrances? No perfumer has yet been outed. And despite their high price tag, the website where the scents are being sold offers no detail about their notes. But there’s a debate going on over at Fragrantica, one of the more popular online perfume databases and forums, about the new scents. The owner, Elena Knezevic, is a vociferous supporter of Trump—her byline is under all the news stories about his fragrances and she celebrates him in the comments under those stories—so several articles about his new perfumes have been populating the site since they were announced for preorder in October 2024.
